Energy Conservation Committee
The Energy Conservation Committee has successfully implemented projects to save
energy in our school and raise awareness among the school community. One of the projects we have accomplished is the Red Dot project, in which we put a red dot on one of the light switches in every room. This project allows us to save a lot of money and energy, for example by turning off all the lights near the windows because the natural light is sufficient and healthier for your eyes, as a result both reduce the electricity bill and increase the productivity of saving energy. Another project is the standby mode for the overhead projectors. Overhead projectors use a lot of energy but we found a way in which the projectors use less energy, make less noise and lower light bulb mortality. At the moment we are working on a Battery Recycling project, this is yet another way of recycling energy at our school to enhance the growth of our school community in environmentally friendly ways. Another successful project on the way to completion is the A/C project in which we have implemented a policy to regulate the air-conditioning/heater to 26 degrees in Summer and 23 degrees in Winter. |
